Pop ups can be awful to look at, and at examining the results at a scientific level gives us a better idea as to which ones really are terrible. According to scientific research, certain colors and schemes of pop ups, even if they have great info are just awful to the human brain.

You may be making the mistake of using awful combinations, but you can fix that. Avoid flagrant use of colors, instead pick a button or feature to have prominently colored and use neutral coloring for the rest. Make sure your pop up is aligned properly. Use straightforward and cohesive wording, sparingly without asking or demanding too much and make sure its worded for your target audience at the right time during their browsing.
